October 19th. Yesterday we practiced descriptive writing using cakes as an example. Today, I want you to continue practicing your descriptive writing by describing your favorite holiday activity, event, costume or party. Ex. I waited in line in the frigid October air waiting to get in to the haunted house. My older brother kept teasing me that I was going to wet my pants. He could be so immature and irritating. "I am seven years old, you goofus. I'll bet you are even more scared then me" I said boldly. In fact, I was anything but bold. The mere thought of the eerie haunted house gave me chills. The hairs on my head stood at attention, waiting for the doom that was to come.
Our next writing focus will be on memoirs. Memoirs are used to share information about the writer while describes his or her special places or people that are important to them.
